In Canada, there’s a shortage of family doctors. In fact, according to the Ontario College of Family Physicians, by 2026, approximately one in four Ontarians may be left without a family doctor.

There aren’t many resources that are available to help Canadians find a family doctor. For the most part, you have to resort to calling around and enquiring whether any medical clinics in your area are accepting patients. Oftentimes you’ll be told that the doctor will add you to their waiting list, but it could be a year or more before your turn in that waiting list comes up. More often, you’ll simply be advised that the doctor is not accepting patients, and then the cycle continues – you call the next doctor on the list and get one of the same responses.

What we’ve done with Find My Doctor is take all of the hard work out of it for you. We provide you with a resource that is unique, efficient and user-friendly.

You get access to a listing of family doctors who we have verified are accepting patients. Further, what makes this site unique is that all of the information is presented to you on a map. You have the ability to input your address or that of a family member or friend, and then immediately have a visual representation of the family doctors in your area that are accepting patients.

Find My Doctor also provides you with different filtering options: you can filter the physicians by gender, as some patients are specifically looking for a male/female/non-binary physician, and you can also filter by language, which helps new immigrants to be able to converse with their physician using the language their most comfortable with.
